2019 Lexus LC500:
For 2019, Lexus has made the LC500 even softer, retuning the adaptive dampers to deliver an even more buttery ride. Wisely, Lexus left the drop-dead styling alone inside and out, though we wish it had addressed the car’s one major failing: the finicky touchpad controller (it works like the pad on a laptop) for the dashboard infotainment screen.
Perhaps aware of our past criticisms of the first-year LC500’s sometimes choppy ride with its big 21-inch wheel package, as well as its artificial-feeling rear-wheel steering option, Lexus sent us a 2019 LC500 with neither feature for this test. Instead, this LC rode on the base 20-inch wheels—whose Bridgestone Turanza summer tires have taller, more forgiving sidewalls—and lacked the rear-wheel steering. The omissions helped highlight the 2019 model-year move toward greater squish.
The only spicy aspect of the entire driving experience is the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8. Lacking turbocharging and the oft-accompanying surge of low-down torque, the LC wafts up to speed on a wave of ever-increasing thrust. Drop the hammer when the light turns green and the Lexus feels light on torque. As the engine revs climb, however, the big coupe starts to hustle. The delayed onset of acceleration is, like the soft suspension, totally in keeping with the LC’s comfort-focused vibe. Never does the V-8 whip your neck back—that’d be so uncouth—but instead it slowly presses you into your seat with the deft and firm touch of a seasoned masseuse.

Chevrolet Tahoe Window Tinting at Tint Magic Coral Springs
When looking through an out-of-focus lens, just about any fullsize body-on-frame sport utility is going to appear mostly like a big box on wheels. Fortunately, Chevy has gone to great lengths to give the Tahoe a distinctive look. Whether it’s an attractive vehicle, though, is certainly up for debate. To our eyes, it looks more purposeful than pretty, with a handsome profile that’s a bit spoiled by the strangely shaped headlamp clusters and massive, upright chrome grille. If you don’t like the look of the Tahoe, remember that there’s a probably a GMC dealer close by with a sales floor full of Yukons, which we think look quite a bit prettier.
The good news is that its long, straight lines and vertical stance mean its interior is large, bright and airy. Seats are comfortable, and the leather surfaces of our LTZ tester were soft and supple. In front of the driver sits a cluster with easy-to-read gauges, including a large tachometer on the left, a matching speedometer on the right and a row of four smaller ancillaries in between. A reasonably sized LCD sits below those smaller gauges, offering the driver basic information that includes trip odometers and fuel mileage readouts. When optioned up properly, all the surfaces you can touch are covered in a soft-ish leather substitute in either gray or brown shades with attractive stitching. Similarly, the steering wheel is nicely covered and easy to put into a comfortable position.
